أوكسانا بروخوروفِيتش طالبة دكتوراه في دائرة اللغات العربيّة واللغات الشرق أَدنى في الجامعة الأمريكيّة في بيروت. حصلت على درجة الماجستير من جامعة تاراس شيفتشينكو الوطنيّة في كييف، أوكرانيا، حيث كتبت أطروحتها حول أدب الأطفال في سوريا ولبنان. تشمل اهتماماتها البحثيّة الأدب العربي الحديث، ودراسات النهضة العربيّة، والنظريّة النقديّة، ودراسات العتبات النصيّة، مع تركيز خاص على الترجمة كتجربة حديّة وكممارسة لـ(إعادة) كتابة النصّ. تهتمّ بالديناميكيّات بين الكاتب والمترجم والقارئ والنص. وبصفتها مترجمة متمرّسة، قامت بترجمة عدّة كتب من العربيّة إلى الأوكرانيّة، وقد ساهمت هذه التجربة في تشكيل بحثها للدكتوراه. يتناول مشروعها الحالي دور العتبات النصيّة للأعمال المترجَمة في إنتاج المعرفة خلال عصر النهضة العربيّة.
Oksana Prokhorovych is a PhD student in the Department of Arabic and Near Eastern Languages at the American University of Beirut. She earned her MA from Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, where she wrote her thesis on children's literature in Syria and Lebanon. Her research interests include modern Arab literature, Nahda studies, critical theory, and paratextuality, with a particular focus on translation as an experience of in-betweenness and a practice of (re)writing. She is interested in the dynamics between writer, translator, reader, and text. As a practicing translator, she has translated several books from Arabic into Ukrainian, which has informed her PhD research. Her current project explores the role of translation paratexts in knowledge production during the Arab Nahda.
