Raghda Nahas El zein is a full-time instructor in the department of Arabic at the American University of Beirut. She has a Bachelor degree in French Literature from Damascus University, and a Master of Arts Degree in Arabic Literature from the American University of Beirut. She is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. in Arabic literature at Saint Josef University, working on the Journal of the Arab Scientific Academy in Damascus and its Linguistic and Literary Activities 1921-1945. Her book Sheikh Ahmad Aref El-Zein (1884-1960), a Pioneer Reformist, based on her master thesis was published by Dar Al Mashreq, Beirut, 2014. She was editor at Arab Dialogue Magazine (published by Arab Thought Institution), and an adviser for Kalimat, an International Journal of Creative Writing, published in Sydney, Australia. She worked as a freelance manuscript editor in the following organizations: Lebanese American University, Lebanese Association for Educational Studies and the GIL association. She also worked as fulltime Editor, Translator and Research Assistant for the Arabic Development Institute.
