Samar Temsah, Instructor at CASAR

samar.jpegSamar Temsah graduated from the American University of Beirut in 2010 with a B.A. in English Literature, a Teaching Diploma in TEFL, a minor in American Studies as well as a minor in the English Language. She received her M.A. Degree in American Studies in June of 2016 from the University of Southern Denmark; a conscious choice of destination and program as being a cultural hybrid of Lebanese American descent she wanted an intermediary locale to be better exposed to the field's complexities and to acquire more of an eclectic understanding of the field. Her M.A. research primarily focused on popular culture and identity politics, specifically looking at nationalism and country music post-9/11. Prior to AUB, Samar has worked within the educational field, with both preschools & high-schoolers, in addition to the corporate world, specifically in the Banking and the Executive Search industries. She plans on pursuing a Ph.D. in American Studies with a specialization in Popular Culture where she would visit issues of cultural hybridity, identity politics and liminal spaces as being empowering instead of marginalizing and disenfranchising.
