    The article exposes artificial intelligence as a materially extractive system built on mining, energy- and water-intensive infrastructure, precarious labour, and toxic waste, arguing that its ecological and social costs are displaced onto marginalized communities in the Global South and can only be addressed through transparent, democratic, and environmentally accountable governance.
