  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, lifelong learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership.

  AUB is accredited in the US by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and includes six faculties: Arts and Sciences, Medicine, Engineering and Architecture, Agricultural and Food Sciences, Health Sciences, and Business. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

VISION

MISSION

To become an internationally recognized user-facility that delivers scientific innovations and solutions for AUB and Lebanon.

To provide cutting-edge technologies and facilities, training, and service that enables AUB faculty members, their graduate students, and their collaborators whether from industry or other universities within Lebanon, the MENA region, or internationally to compete on the global scale.

As a facility that works to support AUB faculty members, their graduate students, and their collaborators; our values are driven by a strong moral suit that we continuously implement in efforts of shaping our facility’s culture and community to be ultimately excellent.

We aim to provide a safe and healthy working environment to reduce risk to all researchers and staff as well as equipment sustainability. We achieve that by training and maintaining all researchers on abiding by general safety regulations while performing their research at our facility where the boundaries of science are expanded.
