Serena Canaan

​​​​Serena Canaan is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the American University of Beirut. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2016. Her research interests include economics of education, labor and family economics. Her work focuses on topics such as the returns to quality of education, school tracking, the gender gap in STEM education, and the costs of parental leave programs for households and firms.
