Murat G. Kirdar is Mamdouha El-Sayed Bobst Visiting Professor of Economics at the American University of Beirut and a professor of economics at Bogazici University, Istanbul and a Research Fellow of IZA, ERF, and CReAM. He holds a BA degree from the University of Michigan (1998), and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania (2004). His main research field is labor economics; in particular, he works on the economics of immigration and economics of education. He has publications in several leading international journals including International Economic Review, Journal of International Economics, European Economic Review, Journal of Human Capital, and Labour Economics. He has been an Associate Editor of the European Economic Review since January 2017. His teaching experience includes several graduate and undergraduate courses in econometrics, microeconomics, applied econometrics, and labor economics. He has supervised several graduate students, including Ph.D. students.
