  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. Usamah Husni Ramadan

Usamah Ramadan has a BA in Economics from AUB (1980) and a Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University (1986). Usamah Ramadan has been an Assistant Professor and Lecturer in Economics in the Faculty of Arts and sciences since 1988. His main research and teaching interests are: History of Economic Thought, Institutional and Heterodox Economics, and Industrial Organization and policy.
