Agnes Rameder


Agnes Rameder has studied Art-History (BA/MA) in Vienna and Leipzig. Her MA thesis was entitled “Azadeh Akhlaghi’s Photographic Series By An Eyewitness in the Context of Staged Photography in Tehran/Iran” (2016, University of Vienna). She is currently a PhD-candidate at the University of Zurich where she works on a thesis on “Lebanese and Iranian Martyrs in Contemporary Photo-Related Art-Practices.” She has undertaken a number of research trips to Iran and is temporarily based in Beirut, where she is a research-affiliate at the Orient Institute and the American University Beirut.  She has also curated several exhibitions, among them “Capturing Iran’s Past” (2019-20) in Berlin’s Pergamonmuseum.
