Thomas Kim is head of the Music program and Chair of the Department of Fine Arts and Art History. He conducts the AUB Choir and Choral Society. Dr. Kim is a specialist in the choral music of Easter Europe as well as the choral-orchestral canon. Prior to his appointment at the American University he was on the faculty of Rowan University, Smith College and Phillips Exeter Academy. For three years he was Assistant Conductor at Harvard University. He has conducted choirs and orchestras in Lebanon, Hungary, Mexico and the United States. Recent performances include W. A. Mozart’s Grand mass in c minor, J. S. Bach’s St. John Passion, R. Vaughan Willimas’ Dona nobis pacem and Gyorgy Orban’s Missa tertia.
