The Math Olympiads are contests aimed at high school students. The spirit of the contest is to showcase an unusual, stimulating and entertaining side of Mathematics: the problems emphasize the students’ ingenuity and creativity over their technical prowess, and aim at introducing the students to new ways of thinking about the subject. Our event takes place in two phases:
Phase 1

Date: usually the second Friday of January

Venue: each participating school (the file with the test will be shared with the schools by email in the morning of the test)

Participants: the level of involvement (how many students, from which grades, etc.) will be left to the discretion of the schools

Format: multiple-choice test of around 90 minutes
Phase 2 (Final)

Date: usually the last Saturday of April

Venue: the AUB campus

Participants: some of the best scorers of Phase 1 will be invited to the final

Format: written test of around 3-4 hours
