Bio

Mohammad Haidar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at The American University of Beirut, where he directs the spintronic and nanomagnetism lab. Dr. Haidar’s research focuses on nanoscale devices that have practical applications in modern technologies such as logic devices, microwave oscillators, and magnonic devices. This includes research in fundamental and applied magnetism and material science. His current research activities include the investigation of spin-polarized transport, spin waves, magnetization dynamics, spin pumping, direct and inverse spin Hall effect, and spin-torque induced magnetization oscillations for spintronics and magnonics studies.

Dr. Mohammad Haidar received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Strasbourg in 2012. From 2013 to 2017, he completed a postdoctoral at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. He joined Chalmers University of Technology (2017-2019) as a researcher where he developed nanoscale magnetic oscillators. In 2018, he visited the Department of Physics department at AUB as an assistant professor. He has over 15 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and has participated in national and international conferences; he has given several invited talks.
