​SMEC LIBRARY
SMEC library is a resource library for science and math pre-service and inservice teachers. Its collection includes Lebanese and foreign science and math curricula, textbooks, activity books, and references.

Opening Hours: 
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm


SMEC LIBRARY RULES 

Borrowing Books :
  • All books withdrawn from the shelves must be charged out with the person in charge in SMEC office. The only 
  • exception is when the books are read in the Library. Books read in the Library should be re-shelved. Kindly re-shelve the books in their proper place. Please fill out the appropriate form before you check out any book.

​A valid AUB identification card is required for borrowing books from the SMEC Library.

Maximum number of loans permitted:

Students: Two books
Faculty members: Ten books
Guest Borrowers: None

Time Limit:
Students: One day
Faculty members: One week
Guest borrowes: Library use only

Renewals: 
A book may be renewed when due for the same period as the original loan, unless it has been requested by another reader. 
A book may be renewed only once. Request for renewal must be made in person and the book must be brought in for renewal.
Renewals may in no circumstances be made by telephone or by a person other than the one to whom the book is charged.

Lost Books:
If a book is lost, the borrower is charged 150% of the list price. If a journal is lost, the charge is 200% of the list price.
This charge covers the overhead costs of replacement as well as the price of the item.

Reserve reading books:
Reserve books may be borrowed only for short periods of time (two-hour limit) and by special permission of SMEC Director. A valid AUB
ID should be left with the person in charge in the SMEC office before a reserve book is checked out.

Overdue books:
Borrowers are expected to return Library books on time. If a student fails to return Library materials on time for three times, his/her
Library privileges will be suspended for the semester in which the materials are borrowed.
