PROJECT DESCRIPTION
CRPH is leading one of the four papers from a series on the multi-dimensional impact of COVID-19 on human development and capabilities in the Arab region. Our paper examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the public health measures put in place to contain its spread, on progress towards achieving the SDGs in the Arab region. It focuses on SDGs that are directly reflective of human capabilities; poverty, health, education, food insecurity, and inequalities, and uses country case-studies to illustrate documented or theorised impact depending on data availability. It builds on available global and regional evidence on policy measures to derive equity-focused policy recommendations to accelerate progress towards the SDGs post-COVID-19 in the Arab region.
