Arab Network for Academic Public Health (ANAPH) Officially Launched

Academic public health institutions from across the Arab region officially launched the Arab Network for Academic Public Health (ANAPH) on April 13, 2026, marking an important milestone for regional collaboration in public health education, research, and practice.

Established through collaboration among schools, colleges, and institutes of public health from multiple Arab countries, ANAPH aims to strengthen cooperation in academic public health and create a regional platform for knowledge exchange, advocacy, research collaboration, and engagement with public health policy and practice.

ANAPH’s vision is to serve as the voice of academic public health in the Arab region and globally. Its mission is to strengthen collaboration among schools and programs of public health, advance context-specific education and research, support stronger public health systems, and elevate the profile of academic public health across the region.

The Network currently includes member institutions from Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, and the United Arab Emirates. Initial activities will focus on MPH education, practicum and field training, research collaboration, and scientific exchange through dedicated taskforces. The Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Beirut currently serves as the Secretariat for the Network.

ANAPH plans to join the broader Global Network for Academic Public Health (GNAPH) ecosystem alongside regional associations from Africa, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Australasia, Latin America, and North America, contributing a regional Arab voice to global academic public health collaboration and dialogue.
