CPHP to hold along with international partners the International Social and Behavior Change Communication Summit 2020

The Center for Public Health Practice (CPHP) at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the American University of Beirut (AUB) is one of the seven partners organizing the International Social and Behavior Change Communication Summit 2020 which will be held on March 30 – April 3, 2020 in Marrakech, Morocco.

The Social and Behavior Change Communication community can unleash transformational change around some of the world's most pressing challenges, including poverty, gender equality, protecting the planet and ensuring that all people enjoy health, peace and prosperity.

The 2020 International SBCC Summit will bring together people from across the globe to examine the most recent evidence and innovations, build on the diverse methodologies, debate the way forward and highlight successes and challenges. The three main themes to be addressed are: (i) "Catalyzing Transformational Change in Areas of Urgency,” which considers such topics as the climate crisis, health access and equity and humanitarian efforts; (ii) “Future Forward,” a look at the lessons learned from the past and what to take going forward; and (iii) “Connecting the Dots,” which explores ways to further increase collaboration, learning, skill sharing and capacity building, creative collective action and sharing within the field.

The summit is organized by Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the American University of Beirut (AUB) Center for Public Health Practice (CPHP), Soul City Institute for Social Justice, Digital Green, Social Change Factory, and Puntos de Encuentro. It will serve as a platform for making new connections and developing partnerships, sharpening cutting-edge insights and advancing innovations in the social and behavior change communication field.
