FHS joins the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH)

The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) has joined the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) as a full member starting May 2018. This Association is limited to schools and programs of public health that are accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). FHS hosts the first and only CEPH-accredited public health program in the Arab and Eastern Mediterranean regions since 2006. FHS remains one of the few international programs to be accredited and consequently amongst a handful of ASPPH members from outside the USA. The ASPPH is dedicated to strengthening the capacity of its members by advancing leadership, excellence, and collaboration for state-of-the-art academic public health.

“We are very proud to be part of this community of learning," commented FHS Dean Iman Nuwayhid. “This is yet another international recognition of academic excellence at FHS which also comes with the responsibility to carry the voice of the Arab region to this forum and represent academic public health from a Global South perspective," added Dr. Nuwayhid.
