The Center for Public Health Practice (CPHP) of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) at AUB in collaboration with the department of statistics at the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and with the support of the World Bank will be implementing a capacity building project for the staff working at the statistics department at MOPH and other departments, as well as staff working in other ministries in Lebanon who are involved in providing data to MOPH. The training aims at building the capacities of the participants for better understanding, managing and analyzing public health relevant statistical and financial data.
The project encompasses developing a reference manual, preparing training curriculum and training material, conducting five workshops and provision of post-training advisory services on a needs basis.
The training will be divided into five modules: Data management and manipulation, Statistical methods and quantitative and qualitative analysis, Demography and population projections, Health care financial management and Policy-related health system research and analysis.
Faculty members from the different departments at FHS (HMPD, HPCH, and EBPH) at FHS will be developing the modules and delivering the training workshops.
These modules will be delivered over a period of one year through didactic sessions, group discussions and individual and group exercises. Through this training and its interactive approach, the participants will be able to reflect on their own experiences and the challenges they face in the discussed field.
