What is The MBSR program?
This scientifically evidence-based program has been developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, at the Center for Mindfulness (CFM), University of Massachusetts Medical School, USA. Through the years The MBSR became the most widely researched empirically validated mindfulness program in the world designed to help people live better with stress pain & illness. It is now extensively utilized around the globe in medical, educational, business & other settings.
Most Participants in this program report greater emotional balance as they learn skills to reduce physical & emotional stress & to better cope with both short & long term stressful situations. They experience reduction of anxiety & worry, improved attention, concentration & better working memory, increased confidence & resilience. They perceive things differently & more clearly, act spontaneously with greater awareness, compassion & wisdom.
MBSR serves also as a valuable complement and support to regular treatment in various medical conditions such as chronic back pain & fatigue, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, heart disease, asthma, sleep disturbances, irritable bowel syndrome, psoriasis, Arthritis, cancer, diabetes Gastrointestinal disorders, depression relapses
Findings from the field of contemplative neuroscience indicate that when practiced regularly skills developed in this course literally rewire the brain & lead to structural changes in areas in the brain associated with sensory cognitive & emotional processing, boost the immune system function resulting in improved health and overall well being
The majority of people completing the program learn how to use their innate resources & abilities to enter into a new relationship with the present moment & as they report lasting physical & psychological benefits

Class Attendance & Home Practice
Each of the 9-MBSR classes builds on the next & so it is important that participants make a personal commitment to attend all classes including the retreat day. A central feature of this course is that participants are asked to engage in 45 minutes of daily home practice, using downloadable guided meditation recordings, as well as informal practice assignments, bringing mindfulness to daily activities they are already doing. The home assignments compliment the in-class training
The daily practice of mindfulness meditation will enable you to realize its benefits.
