Objectives

The Evidence Synthesis Unit (ESU), directed by Dr. Ola El Zein, is currently supporting 45 ongoing research studies, ranging from scoping reviews to systematic reviews. These projects are carried out in collaboration with various faculties and departments across AUB. The unit works with faculty members, residents, fellows, master’s and PhD candidates, students, and staff from various backgrounds, thus offering support throughout the review process.

Target audience:

AUB & AUBMC faculty, students, residents, trainees, research fellows, clinical fellows, research assistants, and staff involved in research
Individuals outside AUB and the region interested in evidence synthesis.

The ESU offers a wide range of services to support evidence synthesis work, including:

Contributing to protocol development
Providing one-to-one support for conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses
Offering training workshops
Building a search strategy in one database
Translating search strategies to multiple databases
Exporting search results
Using reference manager
Screening titles and abstracts
Retrieving and screening full-texts
Extracting data
Writing or editing the search methodology section
