The Calcium Metabolism and Osteoporosis Program at AUBMC
The Calcium Metabolism and Osteoporosis Program (CaMOP) at the AUB Medical Center (AUBMC) is providing urgently needed patient care for men and women with osteoporosis.
Osteoporosis is a silent and deadly disease that is more common than cancer and cardiovascular diseases. One in three women and one in five men, above the age of 50, will suffer a debilitating hip or spine fracture. Unfortunately, most patients with osteoporosis are not diagnosed or treated.
Impeccable patient care by CaMOP faculty, an original research portfolio, and valuable educational activities, have earned CaMOP the coveted designation as WHO Collaborating Center for Metabolic Bone Disorders. Its Bone Mineral Density Unit is the only center outside the US to receive accreditation by the International Society of Densitometry.
Thank you for supporting CaMOP initiatives to halt osteoporosis, and joining us in our vision for a fracture-free community.
