Lebanese FRAX Based Osteoporosis Guidelines 2014 unanimously endorsed by all members of the National Task Force. These FRAX-based recommendations were also unanimously endorsed by concerned national scientific societies: Lebanese Society for Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Disorders, Lebanese Society of Endocrinology, Lebanese Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Lebanese Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, Lebanese Society of Radiology, Lebanese Society of Rheumatology, Lebanese Society of Family Medicine, Lebanese Society of Internal Medicine, Lebanese Society of General Practitioners.
A case-based audience participation interactive session in collaboration between OSTEOS and the following societies (Endocrinology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics, Radiology, Rheumatology and the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office of the World Health Organization) took place on 2006-2007.
- Update for the Lebanese Osteoporosis Guidelines:
was presented on April 30, 2006 , Gefinor Rotana. Local experts discussed the Lebanese Guidelines (Meeting Proceedings
) based on new national data. The panel of international experts included: Professor Juliet Compston, Professor John Kanis, and Professor Michael Mc Clung . The Update of the Guidelines is endorsed by the 5 Lebanese Scientific Societies involved with osteoporosis care, and by the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
- The Lebanese Guidelines of Osteoporosis Assessment and Treatment:
have completed their dissemination phase. 5 society-based interactive audience participation sessions attended by over 180 physicians took place in 2005.
Thanks to the support of WHO Lebanon, 5 similar sessions were conducted in 2005 with the General Medicine society across Lebanon: in Beirut, Tripoli, Jounieh, Zahleh, and Saida, reaching over 250 physicians.
