International Electives

Over the last 10-15 years, the Faculty of Medicine at the American University has been in connection with several US and other universities and medical centers through affiliations and agreements regarding academic collaboration in student exchange (see list below). These agreements tremendously increased in number in the last seven years, and are governed by mutually signed Memoranda of Understandings and affiliation agreements. The conditions and terms vary from one institution to another. Some of them offer non-tuition-based rotations to AUB students with lodging and boarding on students’ expense, while others are tuition-based rotations and the students pay these fees.

Here are some of the Affiliated Universities visited by AUB medical students lately:

  • George Washington University
  • Washington University at Saint Louise
  • University of California, Los Angeles
  • Columbia University
  • University of Toledo
  • University of Massachusetts
  • University of Illinois at Chicago
  • Baylor College of Medicine
  • Trinity College at Dublin
  • The University of IOWA
