The Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
(REI) Fellowship program at the American University of Beirut offers an
interdisciplinary clinical and research training in all aspects of the
subspecialty. The depth of the clinical experience and the expertise of the
faculty attracts patients with clinical issues across the spectrum of REI. The
program consists of 21 months of clinical/research training as well as 3 months
of laboratory training. The program mission is to train tomorrow’s leaders in
reproductive medicine by providing high quality reproductive endocrinology and
infertility fellowship training. This will be attained through systematic
exposure to the clinical challenges and concepts through hands-on training
under the direct supervision and guidance of the faculty. The trainees will
gain exposure to the evolving technologies pertaining to infertile couples,
cancer patients presenting for fertility preservation, patients with known
inherited diseases presenting
for preimplantation genetic diagnosis. Fellows
education will be accomplished through one-to-one
interaction with faculty
during outpatient clinics, in patient
rounds, surgeries, scheduled core
curriculum lectures and seminars.
