  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a referral center in Lebanon and the Middle East. It initiated and implemented the idea of comprehensive women’s healthcare by offering the most up-to-date-care to women seeking medical attention at different age groups. Our specialized faculty members are very active in clinical and basic research as well as in teaching medical students, residents and fellows.
