Clinical Microbiology

​​​​​​​​Clinical Microbiology encompasses several disciplines including Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Mycology, Parasitology, Virology and Serology. The overall objective of these disciplines is to provide rapid and reliable Clinical Laboratory services that are helpful in diagnosing and treating patients with different infectious etiologies, taking into consideration the clinical relevance and cost effective value of the tests performed. The sections are also enrolled in international proficiency testing program.​

  • The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is glad to share with you the “2017 Antimicrobial Susceptibility Profiles of Bacterial Isolates at AUBMC”, which is compiled annually by the staff of Clinical Microbiology, headed by its Director, Dr. George Araj.
