Departmental Conferences

Adolescent Conferences

This is a monthly discussion held by the resident rotating in Adolescent medicine clinics. The aim of this conference is to discuss interesting cases encountered throughout the rotation where latest information and guidelines in basics of general and subspecialty adolescent care are reviewed.

Case Discussions

This is a bimonthly interactive discussion held by the residents rotating in the inpatient pediatric wards. The discussion of cases presented helps resident acquire skills in approaching pediatric chief complaints through a thorough history and physical exam to reach a differential diagnosis.

Chairman’s Round

These rounds are held by the Chairman of Pediatrics with the medical teams of inpatient wards, CCCL, NICU and PICU regarding the management of interesting cases. The meeting also tackles and provides feedback regarding appropriate chart documentation by the medical teams in charge.

Core Curriculum Lectures

Lectures created specifically for residents in the Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine department delivered by faculty members across all subspecialties. The goal is to provide a standardized lecture series presenting the Pediatrics and Adolescent core curriculum.

Pediatrics Grand Rounds

The goal of Pediatric Grand Rounds presented by faculty and graduating residents/fellows is to present challenging medical problems and latest updates in pediatric care. These presentations help graduating fellows and residents to develop proper presentation skills as future pediatricians and consultants.

Guideline Sessions

Medical Pediatric Guideline lectures prepared by the residents according to evidence –based medicine and AAP standards.

Journal Clubs

Residents critically evaluate recent articles in the academic literature, and evidence-based me

Mortality and Morbidity

A conference presented to identify adverse outcomes associated with medical error, to modify behavior and judgment based on previous experiences, and to prevent repetition of errors leading to complications

OPD PEARL/Resident’s Talks

Interactive quiz sessions held by the Chief residents using game-based learning platform to discuss various general pediatrics topics encountered in outpatient clinics.
