Mission
The mission of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery is in alignment with the mission of the department in general, to serve as a major referral center in the region for education, research and the provision of state-of-the-art patient care for all types of cardiac and thoracic surgery for the adult and pediatric population.
Structure
The division, is currently headed by Dr. Pierre Sfeir and comprises 7 faculty members with expertise in the management of complex cardiac, aortic and thoracic surgical procedures.
There are no specialty residents. General surgery residents rotate in the division during their first and second years of training.
