  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. Cancer and Stem Cells

Cancer is the most devastating disease that humans had to face in the last 50 years or so. The research in this program focuses on establishing new pharmaceutical targets, as well as understanding the mechanisms involved in cellular proliferation and apoptosis. Researchers from various backgrounds are also interested in novel therapeutic venues involving stem cells.
