Myography core facility

Situated on the DTS-Third Floor, the Micro-vessel Myography Core hosts a state-of-the-art facility for functional investigation of resistance arterioles (50-300 microns in diameter). The available experimental setups allow for different types of physiological recordings depending on the desired vascular response orientation. Different levels of vascular function ranging from the myogenic response (inherent smooth muscle function), response to neuro humoral mediators, response to endothelium stimulating agents, and dilatory reaction to flow sheer can be assessed in the micro-vessels. In addition, one setup allows for in situ freezing/fixation of micro-vessel segments allowing snapshot-type investigations of molecular events at a particular phase of vascular response. The Micro-vessel Myoraphy Core includes the following setups: A Living Systems self-heated Pressure Myography Chamber with dual in line pressure transducers, and a flow meter, a Danish Myo Technologies self-heated flash freezing Pressure Myography Chamber. And a Danish Myo Technologies four-channel Wire Myography measuring vascular tension.
