  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

Writing in the Discipline Courses

All undergraduate students are required to take a 3-credit Writing in the Discipline (WID) course, which generally offered in the major.
