  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. Completing a thesis consists of a sequence of milestones that include the following:
- Approval of Thesis Topic and Committee
- Thesis Defense
- Completion of Thesis Submission Process to Library
For each target term of graduation, a set of deadlines is published separately for master's and PhD students.
