The American University of Beirut (AUB) has successfully held its Fifth Open House for Graduate Studies on its campus on February 22nd, 2017.
The Open House for Graduate Studies is a grand event that falls within the University’s graduate recruitment strategy. It expanded the AUB graduate recruitment database with approximately 750 new records of potential applicants coming from 113 local, 13 regional, and 49 international universities and companies.
The event was attended by more than 350 participants interested in the diverse fields offered within the AUB graduate programme: 27% in Arts and Sciences, 19% in Medicine, 18% in Engineering and Architecture, 13% in Health Sciences, 9% in Agriculture and Food Sciences, 7% in Business, and 7% in Nursing. It was an occasion to familiarize potential candidates with the various Master’s and PhD degrees offered at AUB, many scholarship programs available to students, required English preparatory classes, and guidelines for submission of admission applications.
Following the comprehensive presentation given by prominent representatives from the Graduate Council and all AUB Faculties spanning the various areas of graduate studies, the attendees were escorted to an open reception. The reception was a chance that allowed them to efficiently interact with AUB professors, relevant staff, and current graduate students and inquire –in person- about all aspects of graduate studies at AUB. In this regard, a series of booths was set up to provide the attendees with further information about graduate programs, scholarships, and services offered by AUB Faculties, the University Preparatory Program (English Proficiency), the Office of International Programs, the Graduate Student Society, the Office of the Registrar, the Office of Admissions, and the Graduate Council.
