The Hariri School of Nursing, AUB hosted an event on Thursday, July 21, 2022, related to the Refugees Act and Communicate for Health (REACH) Project, an initiative of Columbia University. The meeting was attended by representatives of NGOs and the Ministry of Public Health, as well as young researchers. The event started with a welcoming by the interim Dean of HSON, Dr. Laila Farhood, followed by opening remarks by Mr. Charbel Saliba from BOT, then presentations by Drs. Ozge Karadag, the PI of the project and Dr. Nuhad Yazbik Dumit, the PI for Lebanon of the regional mixed-methods field study in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey. The event continued with discussion of findings followed by a panel on the REACH4Health App, and a photography exhibition.
Part of the REACH project was training young researchers on “Qualitative Methods in Migration and Health Research: A Training Workshop for Early Career Researchers". Twenty young researchers joined, representing various majors/disciplines, with varying degrees of research experience at AUB URVP, iNGOs or local organizations. That took place on Saturday July 23, 2022 at HSON premises.
