  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

Visiting Scholars' Candidates must submit the following:

A cover letter which describes the work that will be undertaken during their tenure at IFI and identifying the research program they would be working with;
An updated CV which includes a list of publications;
A research proposal relevant to public policy in the MENA region and/or program areas of the institute and;
A letter of recommendation from your current/previous employer or advisor.

All institute affiliates will receive a university ID card and have access to the AUB libraries and other university resources.
