Integration of Syrian Students into Lebanese Higher Education through Recognition of Qualifications

​​​The Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IFI) at the American University of Beirut (AUB) cordially invites you to a conference titled "Integrating Syrians into Lebanese Higher Education through Recognition of Qualifications” on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 9:00 am, at IFI’s Auditorium (Level B).

This conference is an activity within the scope of the project implemented by IFI in partnership with the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (NOKUT). It is part of the Grant scheme of the HOPES project funded by the European Union’s Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian Crisis, the ‘Madad Fund’ and implemented by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) together with the British Council, Campus France, and Nuffic.


The conference will disseminate the findings and outcomes of the project, in addition to fostering dialogues with various stakeholders from local and international organizations who will share their experience in higher education on national and international levels.

It comprises of three panels that will tackle topics related to the recognition of academic qualifications, integration of refugee students into Lebanese higher education institutions, and career guidance, as well as counseling of Syrian students in higher education institutions in Lebanon.
