"Impact of Climate Change on the Arab World"
Nadim Farajallah, IFI's Climate Change and Environment in the Arab World Program Faculty Research Director, presented on the impact of climate change on the Arab World at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. The presentation was conducted during a research trip that Farajalla undertook within the framework of a Memorandum of Partnership between IFI's Climate Change and Environment in the Arab World Program and the University of Sao Paulo Regional and Urban Economics Lab -- NEREUS. The agreement's objective is to conduct common research related to the economics of climate change in Lebanon and the Arab World. USP is the top-ranked university in Latin America, as world rankings recognize and NEREUS is based in the Department of Economics at USP, the top-ranked Department of Economics in Brazil.

The Climate change and environment in the Arab World program hosted a roundtable discussion on “Urban Green Spaces Policy in Lebanon” as part of the “Towards environmental advocacy” project. A project implemented by the Middle East Partnership Initiative –Lebanon Alumni Association (MEPI_LAA) involving more than 15 local NGOs that will be advocating among policy makers, private sector and through media for policy reforms related to urban green spaces in Lebanon.
