  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, lifelong learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership.

  AUB is accredited in the US by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and includes six faculties: Arts and Sciences, Medicine, Engineering and Architecture, Agricultural and Food Sciences, Health Sciences, and Business. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

Introduction to AUB on line policies and procedures

The American University of Beirut (AUB) conducts all affairs through policies consistent with applicable laws, the principles of equity, diversity, civility and integrity, and better practices. AUB now uses a cloud-based solution to give access to University-wide policies.

The policy site also holds Introductory Material, Guides and Help documents for full time faculty members and staff with a policy role as a Required Reader,Document Owner,Proxy Author,Reviewer,Writer,Approver, or Document Control Administrator

"It is the responsibility of all managers to be familiar with the University’s policies and procedures and to ensure that their subordinates either have access to the web pages and are educated in the policies and procedures that are applicable to them."
