Each year the Center offers a one year post-doc position starting anytime between September and January. Applicants should hold a PhD or a doctorate related to Islamic Philosophy or Science by the time of application. The anticipated research should preferably be in the area of classical Arabic and Islamic science and philosophy broadly conceived. Next to pursuing actively her own research, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the intellectual life of the Center (participate in the organization of seminars and conferences).
Additionally, the Center welcomes Postdoc affiliates who can bring their own funding from outside sources.

1) a statement of intent,
2) a brief research proposal, not to exceed 3 single-space pages,
3) a CV,
4) two letters of recommendation.
AUB has a long history of engagement with Arabic and Islamic science and philosophy, extending back to at least 150 years, and thus can offer archival and library resources to the successful candidate. In return the candidate should be prepared to share the results of her research in a research seminar or a public lecture addressed to a more general audience, and may propose, with the approval of the director, to organize a symposium on the subject. Compensation and benefits are competitive.
