  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

Scholar in Residence

The Farouk Jabre Center hosts established scholars who wish to spend a semester or two at the Center in order to make use of the facilities of the Center as well as AUB libraries to advance their research in areas related to the Center's interests.

Applications should be sent to the Director of the Centre, Prof. George Saliba by July 15 of each year and should include:

A letter of interest describing the research project and mentioning the period of residency (3 pages max).
An updated CV.
