K2P team members visited the Center for Policy and Health Management, Faculty of Medicine, University of Gajah; in February 2020.
During the first three days, K2P Center introduced participants to the evidence-informed decision-making, the role of evidence in health policy, systematic reviews, and knowledge translation, followed by a discussion on priority topics to be addressed. Participants also proceeded with developing policy brief/briefing note outlines addressing topics identified as priorities in their context. The workshop also included knowledge uptake sessions (evidence-informed advocacy and data-visualization). By the end of the workshop, participants reflected on their uptake plans and the list of stakeholders to be engaged throughout the different phases of the knowledge translation process.
The visit concluded with a tour to the CHPM offices where the team was introduced to the different divisions in the center.
On the 4th day, the group that worked on the sugar-sweetened beverages topic conducted a focused dialogue in Jakarta, involving the following participants:
- Center for financing and health insurance – Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia
- Directorate of Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia
- Directorate General of Custom and Excise – Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia
- Directorate General of Tax, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia
The dialogue was followed by a closed discussion with CHPM team on the scope of work, progress with the fellowship program, and next steps.
