  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. Responding to the Municipalities

General Information

Municipalities have a crucial role in supporting the government in translating high-level national regulations into practical measures that can be implemented and monitored at the local community level. Municipalities can also act as channels that connect the government with the population. Since the first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Lebanon, several initiatives have been implemented in various municipalities to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

This series is developed by Clara Abou Samra and Dr. Fadi El Jardali

The roadmap builds on the regulations and initiatives developed by the government and various municipalities, respectively and complements it with international best practices to strengthen the role of municipalities in preventing and contain COVID-19 and ensure coherence across all municipalities.
