The Secretariat of the Lancet-AUB Commission on Syria: Health in Conflict is hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and consists of the Co-Chairs supported by a Research & Documentation Team (RDT) and an Administrative and IT Team (AIT).
Management
Professor Samer Jabbour oversees all aspects of the work of the Commission's Secretariat. Dr. Marian Abouzeid served, October 2018 - December 2020, as the Associate Project Lead for the Commission.
Research & Documentation Team (RDT)
The RDT supports the research work for the whole Commission including the various Thematic Groups. It is International and multi-institutional in composition.
The RDT includes a core research team comprising AUB researchers, research (post-doc) fellows, research assistants, and students

The RDT has recevied support from a network of regional and global collaborating centers and institutions.
At various stages, the RDT team has included a number of research fellows, research assistants and volunteer researchers.
Administrative and Communication Team (ACT)
- Manages all administrative, Communication and IT requirements for the Commission
- Provides support to the Commission to pursure its various objectives and to the Thematic Groups to carry their research work
- Develops and implements a communication and advocacy strategy to increase the reach of the Commission
