Consolidating Industrial Development Through the Transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies Test Approach

​​The Munib and Angela Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources at AUB​ hosted a webinar titled "Consolidating Industrial Development Through the Transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies Test Approach- The Palestinian Experience" by Professor Imad A. Khatib on Thursday March 13, 2025 at 12:30 pm Beirut time. The talk was followed by a Q & A.

Imad Khatib is a professor of fluid dynamics and energy engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in fluid dynamics from KIT (1998), an M.Phil. (1990) from Cardiff University in energy conversion system testing, and a B.Sc. (1985) from Helwan University in mechanical power engineering. In 2021, he was appointed executive vice president of Al-Quds University after serving as President of Palestine Polytechnic University from 2014 to 2021. Previously, he was Secretary General of the Palestine Academy for Science and Technology (2001–2019) and a visiting professor at Birzeit University. From 1999 to 2011, he founded and led the Renewable Energy and Environment Research Unit, establishing solar thermal and PV testing labs. He also led climate change modeling for the GLOWA-Jordan River program (2003–2007). His contributions include key national policies on energy, environment, and science, such as the Palestinian Environmental Action Plan and Horizon 2030: Future Palestine.
