The 6th International Conference on Efficient Building Design - Materials & HVAC Equipment Technologies

The Sixth International Conference on Efficient Building Design, organized by ASHRAE, the ASHRAE Lebanese Chapter, the Munib and Angela Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Beirut, was held on November 7-8, 2024 at The American University of Beirut (AUB), Beirut, Lebanon.

The objective of the conference was to present advanced research targeting human wellbeing and energy through design of safe, healthy, thermally comfortable, and resilient buildings at minimal energy costs.

The conference featured 4 technical sessions that showcased 18 presentations by local and international speakers over two days, as well as four keynote presentations from distinguished experts and professionals in the field.

The conference also featured a public panel titled COP28 and the Global “Cooling” Pledge
with the participation of four distinguished speakers who exchanged the most recent approaches for sustainable cooling to meet zero-net emission.

Parallel to the conference, two interactive online courses from the Global Training Center were offered in conjunction with ASHRAE's topical conference on November 5-6, 2024 (prior to the conference) for participants.
