The 7th International Conference on Efficient Building Design - Materials & HVAC Equipment Technologies

The Seventh International Conference on Efficient Building Design will be jointly organized by ASHRAE, the ASHRAE Lebanese Chapter, the Munib & Angela Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources, and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Beirut. The conference will take place on October 8–9, 2026, at the American University of Beirut (AUB), Beirut, Lebanon.

The conference aims to foster meaningful innovation in the development of sustainable built environments at both building and urban scales. It brings together researchers, practitioners, and industry experts to explore smart and AI-driven solutions and emerging technologies that enhance the performance of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, improve energy efficiency, and strengthen the resilience of buildings and cities in the context of a warming climate. These efforts ultimately support global and regional pathways toward carbon reduction and climate mitigation targets.

The program is expected to feature more than 20 technical papers presented by local and international speakers, addressing integrated strategies, policies, and technologies that advance urban resilience, resource efficiency, and climate-responsive design across multiple sectors. The conference will also include four keynote presentations delivered by distinguished experts and professionals in the field.

In addition, the event will host a panel discussion (topic to be announced) as well as a dedicated industry session led by sponsors, highlighting applied innovations and sectoral perspectives.

Parallel to the conference, a series of professional development courses will be offered in collaboration with ASHRAE’s Global Training Center. These courses are designed to provide participants with advanced knowledge and practical insights across key areas of HVAC and sustainable design.
