Monthly Highlights MEPI-TLU Undergraduates

During the period extending July 2020 through April 2021, a total of six TLU program participants completed their graduation requirements.

Bassam, Aya, Bouthaina, Doha, Mais and Mohamad Graduate!
Six of our TLU program participants have recently graduated:

Bassam Nasser (Yemen) completed his graduation requirements and received his degree in Public Administration with a Minor in Philosophy; and Aya Bidewe (Syria) graduated with degree in Economics.

Bouthaina Abdou from Algeria graduated with a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration; Doha Albared and Mais Hatem (Syria) graduated with a degree in Computer Science; and Mohamad Kaimouz(Syria) graduated with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Philosophy.

Nehme Moujaess Student Award in Landscape Architecture for Academic Year 2020-2021

Despite difficult times, LDEM continues to recognize students' work through its annual Nehme Moujaess Student Award in Landscape Architecture. This year, ten candidates among the final year Landscape Architecture students submitted their projects for consideration. LDEM announced the winner for the Nehme Moujaess Student Award in Landscape Architecture for the Academic Year 2020-2021, Mr. Ali Abu Aleid (MEPI TLU cohort from Libya), one of the finalists after a rigorous virtual (WebEx) selection process set by LDEM committee members.

The committee selected Mr. Abu Aleid's project, One Space At a Time: A sustainable mobile park system built by the people as the most developed and responsive culturally, socially and environmentally at both the macro and micro scale. Congratulations Ali!

Murex Best Innovative Development Project Award for Academic Year 2020-2021.

The Murex Award is an annual award for students in the electrical and computer engineering department. The Best Collaborative Software Development Project award of $3,000 recognizes the team work deployed, the group spirit that was built, and the complexity of the collaboration with others across different industries, geographies, and departments. 

It is with great pleasure that we announce that our very own MEPI TLU Waseem Al Ghali (Libya) and Maxim Hermez (Syria)have been awarded the Murex Best Innovative Development Project for Academic Year 2020-2021.

Henri Qais Naccash Award

Adnan Jaljuli (Jordan) received the Henri Qais Naccash Computer Science Student Development Fund Award while Mhd Hussein Murtada received the Henri Qais Naccache Best Senior Student Prize based on his academic performance.

Abdallah Lahoud for History and Majida Sanioura for Humanities Awards

Achraf Brahim received two awards the Abdallah Lahoud for History and Majida Sanioura for Humanities Awards.  The Abdallah Lahoud Foundation Endowed Award is a $1,000 award to one undergraduate student with the highest average in history or archeology. While the Majida Sanioura Memorial Prize in Humanities is $1,000 award given to a top graduate senior in arts and humanities at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.​
