The Biomedical Engineering (BMEN) program at AUB is a joint interdisciplinary graduate program between the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (MSFEA) and the Faculty of Medicine (FM). The affiliation of departments from two of the largest AUB faculties, alongside our core biomedical engineering faculty and facilities, make the BMEN program at AUB the ideal environment to achieve success in learning and research in biomedical engineering. The BMEN program is involved in a number of research activities spanning the fields of biomechanics, biosensors and nanotechnology, bioinformatics, computational modeling, drug delivery, experimental neuroscience and physiology, neural engineering, sleep apnea and tissue engineering.
The BMEN program offers two graduate degrees: Master of Science (MS) in Biomedical Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Engineering. In addition, for the undergraduate population, the BMEN program offers a Minor in Bioengineering Design. Graduate and minor programs are open to students who hold or are currently undertaking degrees (respectively) in a wide range of majors, including engineering, basic sciences, biomedical sciences, health sciences, computer science and mathematics.
