The visiting scholar’s initiative consists of hosting in MSFEA visiting scholars with whom MSFEA faculty may work to develop international collaborations which can open funding opportunities in the home countries of foreign institutions. Full-time non-visiting professorial rank MSFEA faculty members can nominate scholars they would like to invite to spend up to one week at MSFEA. The purpose of these visits is to foster/establish research collaborations between the visiting scholar and the inviting faculty member as well as other faculty members at MSFEA.
Scope
Full-time non-visiting professorial rank MSFEA faculty members can nominate scholars they would like to invite to spend up to one week at MSFEA. The purpose of these visits is to foster/establish research collaborations between the visiting scholar and the inviting faculty member as well as other faculty members at MSFEA. It is fully expected that these collaborations would likely result in the submission of joint extramural research proposals at some point in the future.
Application Process & Reporting
To nominate a scholar for a visit to MSFEA, faculty members should fill out the form below in Appendix A, describing how the scholar’s visit may benefit the faculty member’s research and the research of others in MSFEA, and the potential for future joint extramural research proposals. Reporting on the outcome of each visit will be expected by filling out the template in Appendix B below.
Review Process
These nominations will initially be evaluated by the MSFEA Research Committee, which will make its recommendations to a committee consisting of the dean’s team (dean, associate deans, and assistant dean) and chair of the MSFEA Research Committee.
Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis until the budget for a given academic year is exhausted. It is anticipated that up to 10 visiting scholars can be invited per year.
To nominate a visiting scholar, please fill out the form below and email it along with your updated CV to msfea@aub.edu.lb
