1) Upskilling in Human-Centered Design​​

Many educators and teams want to work more creatively and collaboratively but haven’t had formal exposure to design methods. CIRCL offers hands-on training to build practical HCD skills that can be used immediately.

Who is this for?

Faculty and staff who want to learn HCD tools themselves, or who want their students to learn them.


​​​​Topics may include:

> Need finding, problem framing, and reframing 

> Conducting qualitative research 

> Data synthesis and sense-making 

> Generative ideation 

> Rapid prototyping and testing 

​This can take the form of:

> Workshops or bootcamps on HCD tools and mindsets 

> Training sessions for educators interested in applying HCD in their teaching 

> Class interventions or student workshops that introduce HCD tools directly to learners ​​

2) Curricular Innovation Support

Sometimes the challenge isn’t learning the tools, it’s using them to solve a real problem. CIRCL partners with faculty to rethink courses, assignments, learning experiences, and Final Year Projects using Human-Centered Design methodology.

Who is this for?

Faculty looking to reimagine their teaching or research methods.


Topics may include:

> Active and experiential learning by designing engaging class sessions, activities, or modules that move beyond lectures.

> Creative course development by rethinking course structure, assignments, assessment, or student engagement from a learner-centered perspective 

> Academic research & FYP support by helping students frame meaningful problems earlier, navigate uncertainty, and develop stronger, more human-grounded projects through workshops or sustained mentorship. ​


​This can take the form of:

> One-time consultations or workshops

> Co-designing a specific module or assignment

> Semester-long accompaniment and advising ​​​

3) Tailored Design Workshops for Staff

CIRCL works with administrative and student-facing units to address everyday challenges using Human-Centered Design. These workshops are hands on where participants learn by doing in order to help them:

               > Understand user needs
               > Reframe persistent problems
               > Co-create practical, testable solutions

*Workshops are fully customized based on the team’s context and goals.
